Supporting Charities

Pin on Scriptural RemindersHere at Farncombe we encourage our pupils to donate gifts, time and money to charity. We have a strong commitment to charitable giving which includes an annual program of support, allowing the children to help the needy and care for the environment.

Since Covid we have felt more compelled than ever before to donate to charity and help those in need. We hosted a charity day (Fitness Friday on 11th September 2020) raising over £180 for http://www.kids.org.uk and boosting our stamina and energy levels as part of our Recovery Curriculum.

In March 2021 we held Blossom Day to raise money for the National trust’s campaign to plant blossom trees, combating climate change and boosting inner city communities.

We dressed up as doctors and nurses in April 2021 and raised over £400 for the NHS Charities Together. We also wrote thank you letters to local surgeries.

For Harvest 2021, on 30th September, we donated to the Godalming Food Bank, following church services in St John’s Church.

In December 2021 children brought into additional toys to school to donate to children unlikely to receive many Christmas presents.

In March 2022 we celebrated Comic Relief, raising £349 for the charity. We also promoted the DEC and spent time in assemblies reflecting on the situation in Ukraine.

In June 2022 we celebrated the queen’s platinum jubilee, raising money for The Forestry Society, of which she is patron. We made a stunning crown collage with our coins!
