History

‘The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.’ Isaiah 40:8

We live in exciting times! Our History curriculum has been completed reinvigorated this academic year. We aim to inspire pupils with stories of events and famous people from the past. Pupils experience both primary and secondary sources of information, from Reception onwards, including searching for information about the Edwardians from our very own school building.

Children are provided with opportunities to imagine what it must have been like to experience The Great Fire of London, or a hospital in the 19th century.

Individuality in History is celebrated through local heroes such as Jack Phillips who was born just a few metres away from our school.

These approaches to pedagogy, as part of our curriculum intent for History, ensure that the subject is vibrant and meaningful.
