Admissions

‘In my Father’s house there are many rooms…’ John 14:2

Although we are a church school, our admissions is through Surrey County Council. (This is because we are a controlled, not an aided church school and our funding comes directly from Surrey.)

Surrey County Council is the admission authority for this school.  To find up to date information about the school’s admission arrangements and details on how to apply, either as part of the normal intake or during the school year, please use this link:

Please note that for children turning four between 1 September 2023 and 31 August 2024 the closing date for applications is P1110064January 2024. These children will start school in September 2024. Tours for prospective parents usually take place each Tuesday and Friday through the Summer and Autumn terms. Please call the school office on 01483 424933 and speak to Abi, Kirsty or Mary to arrange your tour. (Try not to bring your 3 or 4 year old, if possible, so that you can focus!)

Traditionally our catchment area has been very small (one of the smallest in the whole of Surrey – under 400 metres ‘as the crow flies’). However, we are generally able to place all families living within the village. The governors and staff at Farncombe are delighted with the recent change to admissions, settling our PAN at 30, and feel exceptionally well prepared to serve the full community of Farncombe, We remain a popular school, thanks to our excellent academic results and pastoral care.

Should your child be offered a place here, we will contact you with a pack of information and forms to sign. We will also ask you for information about your child’s life history so that we can be ready to support them in the best way possible from day one. We will contact your child’s current nursery to hear about their learning from their key workers.

You and your child will be invited into school in the summer before school starts, to meet the staff, see the learning environment and make new friends. In 2023, this involves an induction on 26th May as well as a series of optional ‘Stay and Play’ sessions in June and July. These can be booked through Eventbrite.
